Browser Initial Values
Choose your preferred Browser Engine that is used to render Browser assets: "Awesomium" or "CEF". Please save your project and restart the PB system including all Managers and Clients (!) to apply the change. CEF and Awesomium are both embedded browser engines based on Chromium, however CEF uses a newer version and updates it occasionally. Currently, PB has embedded the CEF version that is based on Chrome 63. Awesomium is based on Chrome 18. If you like to check the Chromium version that is used, you can refer to web sites like https://whatsmybrowser.org; simply enter the URL in the Inspector of your PB Web Browser asset. According to their Chromium versions both frameworks support HTML5, Javascript, CSS3 and Silverlight. Since Chromium 56 Flash is blocked. Again, you can use certain web sites to check certain web features, for example https://caniuse.com. It is always recommended to test web sites before using them in a show to verify that the used techniques are working in the embedded Chromium version.. Awesomium supports native single touch events. The support for native multiple touch events in CEF works since version 6.1.3. In former versions, custom JavaScript code is the only possibility for this feature. Both, CEF and Awesomium, cache the web site first. This process takes some seconds and depends on the web site, but 2-15 seconds is normal. When the site is "ready", Pandoras Box displays it at once. |
